Last month, Film Independent hosted a Directors Close Up Series. Ava DuVernay, director of “A Wrinkle in Time,” observed that too often the many granular details of a film are easily overlooked, such as props. “The reason why I wanted J.P. Jones here is because he is one of the few prop masters of color in this business, period.” DuVernay continued, “he’s extremely proficient and one of the best at his job.”
Thank you AvaDuVernay for highlighting the importance of props and art department in film. And congrats to JP on this well deserved accolade. “A Wrinkle in Time” opens March 9th.
